What Maintenance will my system need?

You will only ever need to do minimal maintenance work on your system. This may include such things as: adjusting timer settings according to the season, or cleaning a sprinkler head’ filter once every couple of months.

How many sprinklers will I be able to run at once?

This will depend upon your water supply. If your system consists of mini sprinklers and domestic drip irrigation, then it may be possible to run your system direct from the mains supply. As a rule pop-up sprinklers are run from a tank and pump. This is something that our design department will be able to give you assistance with.

How much water will my irrigation system use – why not just use a hosepipe?

An irrigation system that has been properly designed and installed can save water. The use of a hosepipe is laborious and time consuming. How do you judge the amount of water applied?

When is the best time to irrigate? –

Night or early morning when the ambient temperature is at its lowest and wind speed low thus reducing evaporation losses.

What Should I do If it Rains

The system should be shut down in the event of rain. If your system has a rain sensor incorporated into it, then this will be done automatically. More sophisticated soil sensors can monitor moisture content preventing irrigation when unnecessary.

How much disruption will the installation of my system cause?

If everything has been planned correctly then the disruption to you will be minimal.
